Friends of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center (FSAC) is a nonprofit organization that provides about 50% of our local avalanche center’s annual funding. Our mission is to support the Sawtooth Avalanche Center and promote life-saving avalanche safety information, education, and outreach throughout central Idaho. Join us in realizing our vision and building the best avalanche center in the West. The FSAC operates under 501(c)(3) guidelines.
The FSAC provides about 50% of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center’s annual operating budget, and we couldn’t do it without you. Your donations support our amazing forecast team that produces the daily avalanche forecasts we rely on for informed winter travel in the backcountry. Your contributions provide essential educational outreach to our community. And your funding supports the growth and development of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center website. Every donation, no matter the amount, is so important to helping us meet our mission, and every donation, no matter the amount, could save a life.

Meet the Team
The FSAC staff collaborates with the avalanche forecasters, board of directors, and community members to accomplish our mission. Dawn Bird as the executive director is at the helm of logistics and nonprofit administration. Stacey Ward leads the education and community outreach efforts. Amy David manages the marketing and media content. Their dedication and commitment ensure a solid commitment to the future of our work.
The FSAC Board of Directors is critical in the success of our organization. Each board member brings a different skill set and perspective to the team, which drives the course of action. The board meets monthly with the SAC and FSAC staff to discuss fundraising, events, education, media, and community outreach.
